Russian central bank calls bitcoin a candy wrapper

Russia may ban access to cryptocurrency exchanges and exchanging platforms to its residents, Dmitry Tulin, first deputy chairman of the Bank of Russia, has said.

He stated this at a lecture at the Ural Federal University (Ural Federal University), TASS reports.

“Regulation, probably, will result in blockage of the channels of an organized exchange. There probably will not be any exchanges, there will be no platforms, and the main regulatory philosophy will consist in the idea that if one wants to play these games, then one can play them, but there will be no judicial protection or insurance system,” he said during his speech at the Ural Federal University.

Tulin recalled that now the Bank of Russia is tending towards a wary attitude to cryptocurrencies, and by himself, he treats them sharply negatively, TASS reports…
