The co-founder of Ethereum has expressed his “strong support” for developers working on simpler and safer wallet contracts.
This statement he made on his twitter. Buterin did not elaborate whether he believes a hard fork is needed to unfreeze locked assets of Parity customers.
I am deliberately refraining from comment on wallet issues, except to express strong support for those working hard on writing simpler, safer wallet contracts or auditing and formally verifying security of existing ones.

The bug found in the Parity code has stuck up to $150 million in ethers. The vulnerability allows to turn the Parity Wallet library contract into a regular multi-sig wallet and become an owner of it by calling the initWallet function.
